Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On June 10, 2021, a traffic stop was conducted, and the driver (deceased) was contacted. During the NCIC
check of the deceased, it was discovered that he had felony warrants out of another state. Once the
deceased was informed of the outstanding warrants and that he would be placed under arrest, he pretended
to have a medical episode. While the officer was attempting to summons help the deceased struck the officer
and attempted to get back in his car and flee. The officer attempted to stop the deceased and eventually
ended up inside the suspect vehicle with the deceased. During the struggle to subdue the deceased he
attempted to put the vehicle in gear with the officer still inside the car engaged with the deceased. The
deceased was given several orders to stop and not attempt to move the vehicle with the officer in the car. At
one point the officer drew his weapon and told the deceased that if he tried to move the vehicle he would be
shot. The deceased disregarded all the officer's warnings and eventually placed the car in drive and
attempted to drive away with the officer inside the driver's portion of the vehicle. The officer shot the
deceased and as he was attempting to exit the vehicle was temporarily hung up. The officer shot six (6)
rounds both inside and outside the vehicle. The officer broke free from the vehicle and the deceased
