Summary of Incident
Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
Deputies responded to the subject's residence following a report that the subject was in possession of two
firearms and had threatened to kill himself. Upon arrival, deputies learned that the subject had already left the
residence. Family members provided a description of the vehicle the subject was believed to be driving.
Approximately five miles from the residence, deputies located a vehicle matching the description. The vehicle
entered the parking lot of a closed business and pulled into a parking space. A deputy followed the vehicle
into the parking lot, positioned the patrol vehicle behind it, and activated the emergency overhead lights.
Immediately after the deputy activated the emergency overhead lights, and while still seated inside the
vehicle, the subject produced a handgun, placed it to his head, and discharged the firearm, inflicting a
self-inflicted gunshot wound. The subject was pronounced deceased at the scene.
