Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 09/02/2025 Officer Cook with the Marlin Police Department stopped a vehicle for no license plate light. the traffic stop occurred in the 715 Block of Live Oak street in Marlin Texas at Mikes car wash. Officer Cook exited the vehicle and heard a single gun shot coming from inside Kuizinas vehicle. Additional officers arrived a the scene. The vehicle was then secured and officered observed Kuizinas with a single gun shot wound to the head. Officers then proceeded to give medical attention until medical personal arrived and that point medical personal arrived. Kuizinas was then life flighted to Baylor Scott white in Temple where he passed away from his injuries on 09/03/2025 at approx 3:21pm. In car video and body camera was also view by Chief Hommel and Texas Ranger Johnston. In car video showed shortly after the Kuizinas vehicle came to a stop what a appeared the drivers side window glass shattering from the inside out as if something exited through the drivers side window of the vehicle. Officer Cook could not be seen in car video. Officers Cooks body camera footage showed Officer Cook exiting the vehicle and shutting the door and a soon as she shut the door being able to hear what appeared to be a gun shot. Officer Cook then opened the drivers side door and proceeded to radio for assistance. Officer Cook body camera footage showed she never approached the vehicle be for hearing the gun shot.
