Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: On 01/07/2026 at around 2221 hours Officer Holt was making a round through N-Dorm maximum security dorm. When he approached cell 13, he observed inmate Mickens, Anthony unresponsive leaning against the cell door with a ligature around his neck attached to the bars above the cell door. Officer Holt called for assistance and Officer Lamar McGee arrived shortly after. Both officers attempted to enter the cell but found a piece of linen tied around the cell door to the bunk in the cell. Lt. Aaron Davalos arrives shortly after and cut the linen from the door. They then entered the cell and cut the ligature from inmate Mickens and placed him on the floor. They began life saving measures until medical staff arrived. Inmate Mickens was then placed on a gurney and taken to the infirmary as life saving measures were continued. Various medical staff continued performing lifesaving measures as EMS arrived. Inmate Mickens was then transferred to St. Elizabeth Hospital by EMS. At 2331 medical staff at the hospital called his death. Custodial Death Report :: Page 6 of 6
