Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters)
Summary:
On October 4, 2024 at approximately 4:45 p.m., officers were dispatched to a Disturbance incident in the
4700 block of 14th Street. Responding officers were advised that a female was threatening individuals
inside the residence with a firearm and behaving erratically. The reporting party also advised that she was
making threatening remarks about shooting officers.
Upon officers arrival, the female was observed holding a firearm. Plano Police Officers established contact
with the female in an attempt to deescalate the situation. Despite negotiation efforts, the female
remained non-compliant and her behavior was increasingly erratic, which resulted in an officer involved
shooting.
Plano Police Officers immediately rendered medical aid to the female who was transported by Plano-Fire
Rescue to a local hospital where she was later pronounced deceased.
