Under Restraint: No Summary of Incident Summary of How the Death Occurred: (max. 30,000 characters) Summary: The Sugar Land Police Department participates in and partners with the East Fort Bend Regional SWAT. On September 3, 2025, several SLPD officers on the regional team responded to 13007 Lawrence Street in the City of Stafford to assist the Stafford Police Department with a barricaded suspect. The Stafford Police Department was investigating a Murder at the Lawrence Street address when Stafford PD officers encountered the Murder suspect, and then the suspect shot at the officers. A Stafford Officer fired at the suspect who was inside the Lawrence Street residence, and after the shootout, SWAT was called to the scene. The SWAT team entered the residence and found the suspect deceased from a gunshot wound received by the Stafford Officer.
