The suspect was identified as Aaron Robinson, and the members of the Ft Hood Criminal Investigation Division were in the process of obtaining an arrest warrant for the suspect, following the confession of an accomplice. A member of the USMS Lone Star Fugitive Task Force located Robinson walking in the 4700blk of E Rancier Ave, Killeen, Bell County, TX, and conducted a pedestrian stop at the entry of a parking lot at 4507 E Rancier Ave. Robinison did stop when confronted and ordered to do so. He began to follow commands designed to detain him, which included stopping and raising his hands. While continuing to give Robinson commands so that he could be secured, Robinson reached into his pocket and produced a handgun. Robinson initially raised the handgun and pointed it towards the Task Force Deputy, and then turned it on himself as the Deputy took cover. Robinson was witnessed placing his handgun into his mouth and firing a single shot, shooting himself in the head. First aid attempts and EMS assistance were immediately initiated. Additional Officers responded as well as the Killeen Fire Department Emergency Medical Service, but first aid attempts were unsuccessful. Robinson was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Justice of the Peace, and an autopsy was ordered at the Southwest Institute of Forensic Science in Dallas, TX. The initial cause of death report was returned indicating the cause of death was a gunshot would of the head, and the manner of death was suicide. UPDATE: Final autopsy report received. Findings indicate the cause of death as a single gunshot would of the head, with the manner of death of suicide.
